Last week my dear friend Caitlyn came over for a photo shoot.

I had purchased this wig from eBay

Which looks almost nothing like it does in this picture. I was disappointed.

I bought it for the sole purpose of doing a very high key alien-like photo of someone. That someone ended up being Caitlyn!

She expressed her fondness of the wig when I had some friends over one night and we were all going through my wigs and costumes and dressing up for fun. So I thought she'd be the perfect model for it!

I'd had this idea for a while now, and when Caitlyn started dressing up and doing her makeup, my vision was gone.. Simply because she looked too cute! The alien idea had to go.

Because the wig was so uncooperative I had to pin back the enormous fringe and I ended up hiding the pin with a random butterfly clip I had laying around.

I ended up dressing her with a vintage white lace dress I'd bought and she looked adorable.

This was the winning shot for me, and after playing around in Photoshop for a while I ended up with this:

I am absolutely in love with it. It is my favourite photo I have ever taken.

And now for some behind-the-scenes!

And I suddenly look really plain and hobo next to pixie fairy Caitlyn.

I do most shoots in my garage. Who woulda thought???
